Being a helicopter pilot may just be the right choice if you are looking for an exciting career with a guaranteed return on investment. The use of helicopters in the commercial world is constantly expanding, and has created a global demand for Helicopter Pilots. A Helicopter Pilot enjoys a diverse job filled with day-to-day challenges that require expert handling skills.

An estimated 450 helicopters are likely to be added to Indian aviation industry by 2012 to meet the rising demand. Another reason for the high demand of rotor wing pilots is due to increasing number of Helicopter Imports to India. Currently about 367 helicopters are awaiting their permits and this number is expected to rise exponentially in future.

Due to heavy demand for Helicopter Pilots in India all leading charter companies are offering excellent incentives to candidates to make their career in Helicopter Industry by offering them jobs even before they go for their CHPL course. A fresh CHPL holder can join as Co Pilot with a starting salary between 75.000 – 1.25 Lac per month as, and can go up to 1.75 – 2.75 Lac rupees after a year.

Helicopter Pilots with higher experience can expect getting paid 3.00 Lac Rupees and above. Many of the multinational companies like ONGC, ESSAR, RELIANCE, JINDALS, PUNJ, LYODD and the State Governments, wish own their own fleet of helicopters for their own particular needs, charter services and offshore operations.
